Why we collect your personal data and what we do with it

When you supply your personal details to us they are stored and processed for 4 reasons in conjunction with the new General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

  1. We need to collect personal information about you in order to provide you with the best possible coaching. Your requesting coaching (or consultancy) and our agreement to provide that constitutes a contract. You can, of course, refuse to provide the information, but if you were to do that we would not be able to provide consistent services.

  2. We have a “Legitimate Interest” in collecting that information, because without it we couldn’t provide our services effectively.

  3. We also think that it is important that we can contact you via automated email in order to confirm your appointments with us or to update you on matters related to your services from us. This again constitutes “Legitimate Interest”, but this time it is your legitimate interest.

  4. Provided we have your consent, we may occasionally send you general information about our services. You may withdraw this consent at any time – just let us know by any convenient method.

We do not have a legal obligation to retain your records. Our preference is to retain coaching records for 1 year after your most recent appointment. After this time, we will delete electronic records. You can at any time request a full copy of your records which we will organise for you within 30 days.

Record Storage

Records are stored electronically. This is locally on personal computer, encrypted and password protected. The passwords are changed regularly and known only to members of the immediate Rise team providing coaching (or consulting) services. We will never share your data with anyone who does not need access without your written consent. Only the following people/agencies will have routine access to your data:

  • Your Coach Practitioner(s) in order that they can provide you with services

The Rise website

The Rise website uses cookies, which is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. The site uses cookies to help us to identify and track visitors and their website access preferences. Rise’s website visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website.

And finally…

You have the right to see what personal data of yours we hold, and you can also ask us to correct any factual errors. At any time, you can also ask us to erase your records.

We want you to be absolutely confident that we are treating your personal data responsibly, and that we are doing everything we can to make sure that the only people who can access that data have a genuine need to do so. Of course, if you feel that we are mishandling your personal data in some way, you have the right to complain. Complaints need to be sent to the “Data Controller”.
